THUNDERSTORMS AND LIGHTNING
Some thunderstorms can be seen approaching, while others hit without warning.  It is important to learn and recognize the danger signs and to plan ahead.  

Tornado Information

TORNADOES
When a tornado is coming, you have only a short amount of time to make life or death decisions.  Advance planning and quick response are the keys to surviving a tornado.

Severe Heat Information

SEVERE HEAT
Doing too much on a hot day, spending too much time in the sun or staying too long in an overheated place can cause heat related illnesses.  Know the symptoms of heat disorders and overexposure to the sun, and be ready to give first aid treatment.

Flood Information

FLOODS & FLASH FLOODS
Mitigation pays.  It includes any activities that prevent an emergency, reduce the chance of an emergency happening or lessen the damaging effects of unavoidable emergencies.  Investing in mitigation steps, such as constructing barriers such as levees and purchasing flood insurance now, will help reduce the amount of structural damage to your home and financial loss from building and crop damage should a flood or flash flood occur.
