Clinton County Conservation Board

This burn took place in Follets Park.  We burn the road ditches to control weeds and trees.  Fire is one of natures best methods of weed control. Fire favors deep rooted grassland species and inhibits woody plants. A late season burn can also hurt cool season invaders like Brome grass, Kentucky Blue grass and Reed's Canary Grass.

Every spring we light up the night sky for prairie education.
