Conservation Education Program
The Conservation Education
Program focuses on teaching the youth of Eastern Iowa about wildlife
habitat and how humans hold the key to the future of both local and global
ecosystems.
The Clinton County Conservation Board employs
Three
Educators. They are highly qualified, experienced educators dedicated to making sure the next generation of
Clinton County citizens are good Earth Stewards.

Mark Roberts, Education Coordinator

Mark Roberts
is the Conservation Education Coordinator for Clinton County Conservation
since 1992. Mark graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a
degree in Natural History Interpretation, with a minor in Earth Science.
He has been in charge of the CCCB Education Program since 1992. MRoberts@clintoncountyiowa.com

Chuck Jacobsen
has been Interpretive Naturalist for Clinton County
Conservation since 2004. Chuck received a Associates of Applied Science degree
in Production Agriculture from Clinton Community College. His aptitude for
communicating with school-aged children was developed through his years as
Director of Soaring Eagle Nature Center. Chuck has developed & presented
education programs for SENC and Clinton County Conservation. He has a good
practical knowledge of plant and animal communities, natural systems and is
proficient in many outdoor activities. Chuck is also our musician. He uses
guitar and song to inspire people with music from artists such as John Denver.

Jessica Steines
has been an Interpretive Naturalist for the
Clinton County Conservation since 2006. Jessica received a degree in Animal
Ecology with an option in Wildlife and minored in Forestry at Iowa State
University of Science and Technology. Shortly after graduation, Jessica
completed two AmeriCorps terms and seasonal positions as a naturalist at the
Wapsi River Environmental Education Center for Scott County Conservation. JSteines@clintoncountyiowa.com

Heron Eco-cruises Pontoon Boat at Rock Creek Marina
The
CCCB works out of three nature centers. One at Eden
Valley Refuge , one at the Wapsi River Environmental Education Center which is operated
jointly with the Scott
County Conservation Board, and the third at Soaring Eagles
Nature Center, cooperatively run with the Eagle Point Nature Society. We
also do a lot of activities at Rock Creek Marina
