Camp Miss-Elk-Ton
The camp is a former Girl Scout Camp converted for
Youth Group use. While
the area is open to the public, the main use is by people renting the lodge.
This facility is for organized youth groups
only starting in 2005 such as scouts, 4-H, and church youth.
The lodge sits atop a hill with the
Elk River babbling below in Camp Miss-Elk-Ton. The area is 39 acres of mature oak-hickory
forest with about 1 mile of trails. The best thing about renting this
lodge is that the entire park comes with it. The park is gated and
basically no one except the renters use the area.
This facility has a spacious 22 X 35
foot main room. Which makes the lodge large enough for 50+ people to
gather for family get-togethers and scouting or church youth group
functions. Groups that want to stay overnight simply spread the sleeping
bags on the floor or use the mattresses. Features include a brick
fireplace, wood-burner for heat, stove, refrigerator, well, lights. Cost
is $3 per person up to $50 maximum for non-profit organized youth groups.
Contact the CCCB Office at 563-847-7202 for more information and
reservations.
