Sherman Park

This park is composed of 231 acres of trails, upland, timber, Wapsi River frontage, sand prairie remnants, and woodland ponds.

The north 185 acres is open to public hunting. Whitetails, turkeys, squirrels and coyote abound.  

The south 46 Acres is a Campground, wildlife preserve and park. Camping is $10 per night in the primitive site and is $15 per night in the RV friendly electric sites. Youth groups cost $2/tent in designated area. People who camp at Sherman are looking for solitude and a great place to catfish. a concrete boat ramp provides easy access to the Wapsipinicon River for motorboats and canoes.

New Campground at Sherman Park

Eight new campsites have been put in at Sherman Park and are ready for use. They feature electrical hook-ups and are located above the floodplain. That means campers will always be able to use Sherman, even when the Wapsi is being unruly.

The Quad City Astronomical Society Maintains an Observatory at the park. Public Star Parties are held several times a year. See the Calendar of Events for dates.
