Soaring Eagles Nature Center was operated as a private, non-profit, facility for 30 years. In Spring of 2003, the Eagle Point Nature Society and the Clinton County Conservation Board joined forces to operate the facility (see article "Forces of Nature"). EPNS maintains the grounds, buildings and Prairie Pasture Park animal exhibit while the CCCB runs the environmental education programs out of the Center.

Soaring Eagles is located on the North end of Clinton just off US highway 67, on the southern end of Eagle Point Park. The street address is 3923 North 3rd Street, Clinton, Iowa 52732. Call 563-242-9088 for information on an educational visit or email Chuck Jacobsen at the Center.

The Interpretive Center, called the Nature Barn, is an authentic converted 1938 barn.

The outdoor amphitheater and stage make a good venue for nature activities

Flannery School was the last one room schoolhouse built in Clinton County (1935).

Inside looks much as it did when it was in use.

Near the Nature Barn is a small pond with lots of tadpoles and aquatic insects.

It has quickly become a favorite with the kids!

The center sits on 40 acres of forest and restored tallgrass prairie.

The Center teaches outdoor skills such as using a compass.

The Center features many public events year-round that anyone can enjoy, usually free of charge. See Calendar of Events.
