Here are two of our Roadside spraying units that we use.  The one on the right has an onboard computer and Global Positioning Software on it.  That one it our primary sprayer.  We cover approximately 2100 miles of road ditch per year.  The second unit is the one we use for the hard to reach areas.  This unit has a couple of functions.  We use it for Roadside spraying, its great for getting to those hard to reach areas because it has a hose reel that has one-hundred feet of hose!  It is also used for Roadside burning and doing our prairie burns.  It has a removable tank, so we can also use it as a regular pick up truck.

Can you imagine driving from Grand Mound Iowa to Vancouver British Columbia, which is 2075 miles away, at 5 miles per hour?  In Clinton County there are approximately 2100 miles of road ditch that we spray every year.  Many Roads do get sprayed more than once!  It would take you 415 hours of continuous driving, never stopping for breaks or fuel.  Now imagine doing it for only six hours per day and with good weather and wind speeds of less than 12 miles per hour!
