Planning and Zoning Department

Clinton County Planning and Zoning is responsible for Land Use Regulation in the unincorporated areas of Clinton County. The County, through its Master Plan, Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision regulations and Flood Plain Management Ordinance, is able to regulate all non-farm uses and construction in the unincorporated areas of the County.

Responsibilities of the Department include:

issuing of zoning permits
issuing of flood plain development permits
accepting applications for rezoning, variances, special exceptions and subdivisions
assisting the public in completion of these applications
providing staff assistance to the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment
review and recommend changes to the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance
maintenance of the Official Zoning Map
